Merkel spokesman calls monkey diesel tests 'unethical'

Steffen Seibert, spokesman of German chancellor Angela Merkel, responded on Monday for the first time to reports that an institute paid by German carmakers had used monkeys and humans to test health effects of diesel cars. "These tests on monkeys or even people are in no ethical way justifiable and raise many critical questions about those who are behind the tests," Seibert said.
