May gathers Brexit ministers to hammer out UK position

UK prime minister Theresa May and her 11-strong Brexit inner cabinet meet on Thursday at her country retreat to agree a common position on Britain's future relationship with the European Union. The ministers are at odds over how closely the EU and UK should align after leaving the EU in March 2019. Border checks in Northern Ireland after Brexit are also expected to be a sticking point in the talks.
