Czech government plans tougher criteria for EU referendum
By EUobserver
The caretaker government of Andrej Babis on Tuesday presented a bill to harden criteria for a referendum on the Czech Republic's EU membership. According to the proposed bill, to be tabled in parliament, 850,000 signatures would be required to organise a referendum and the result would need a majority of registered voters to be valid. International agreements would also be excluded from referendums.
