New Italian coalition wants €250bn debt forgiveness

The new Italian government plans to ask the European Central Bank to forgive €250bn of Italian debt, according to a 39-page draft coalition program dated 14 May between the 5-Star Movement and the far-right League. Obtained by Huffington Post Italia, the draft also calls for a renegotiation of Italy's European Union budget contributions and to end sanctions against Russia.
