Majority of Germans want Merkel to stay on

German chancellor Angela Merkel may have few supporters in her own party, but is still hugely popular among Germans, with 59 percent wanting her to remain in office for two and a half years until the next federal election. Support for her has even gone up by two percent compared to the last poll in December, the survey by the ARD showed.

For Ukraine's sake, pass the EU due diligence directive

The EU Commission's 2022 CSDDD proposal did not include provisions incorporating "conflict due diligence", they were added, after the Russian invasion, by the European Parliament and Council into the final directive text — for Ukraine's sake, vote for it.
