EMA: blood clots are rare side-effect of AstraZeneca vaccine

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) said Wednesday that unusual blood clots with low platelet counts should be listed as a side effect of the vaccine developed by AstraZeneca - falling short of limiting its use, Reuters reported. EMA insisted that the benefits of the shot outweigh its risks, adding that the risk of dying from Covid-19 was "much greater" than the risk of mortality from these rare side effects.
