CO2 pledges fall far short of 2050 target, energy agency warns

A report by the International Energy Agency found on Wednesday that emissions are projected to drop just 40 percent by 2050 under current plans, The Guardian reported. These findings led to "stark warnings" about the gap between what is needed and what is being proposed. The report comes a few weeks ahead the UN climate summit in Glasgow, when global leaders are expected to step up their climate ambitions.
