THURSDAY in the European Union

Thursday will see Members of the European Parliament again try and hammer out an agreement on their pay and expenses.

The leaders of the political factions will meet as the parliamentary elections loom on the horizon, bringing with them the gaze of media scrutiny - to which some MEPs feel the opaque expenses system will not stand up.
