Top level EU officials are set to give the final go-ahead on Friday for Zimbabwean leader, Robert Mugabe, to be allowed to bypass travel sanctions to attend the Franco-African summit later this month.
However, the EU will also decide to extend the economic and travel sanctions that were imposed on the Mugabe regime last year following concerns about unfair elections and human rights abuses.
