The EU has said that while it cannot regard Hamas as an appropriate speaking partner it does not want the Palestinian government to fail.
Speaking to MEPs on Wednesday (5 April), EU foreign affairs chief Javier Solana said "Right now, I stress - I don't know what's going to happen in the future - at the moment, we can't regard Hamas as an appropriate speaking partner."
