Two thirds of Norwegians want EU membership

The decision taken at the Copenhagen Summit in December to invite 10 new countries into the EU seems to have dramatically changed public feeling in Norway. Since December the Yes-side has grown by nine per cent and has never been stronger.

If voting today, 67 per cent would vote yes to EU membership, while 33 per cent would remain opposed, according to a fresh poll from Opinion published by the daily Aftenposten and the Norwegian public radio and television.
