The Maltese Premier Eddie Fenech Adami said that the referendum on EU accession in Malta will be held in March. The exact date is still to be decided. Although this is the first clear indication of when the referendum date could be announced, Malta is the only acceding state so far that has not yet announced a date.
Besides the referendum on EU accession, the Maltese people will also be asked to vote in the local council elections on 8 March and the general election.
