Kinnock called to quit over Andreasen suspension

The Commission Vice-President Neil Kinnock has denied claims that he purposely refused to disclose a letter sent to him last year which attacked the Commission's accounting system, saying this letter was just a "private internal note."

The letter, which was revealed by the EUobserver last Thursday, was sent on 21 May 2002 by Jules Muis, head of the Commission's internal audit system, described the Commission's accounting system as "vintage public sector in the 60's."
