The European Commission announced yesterday (27 June) that it would suspend disciplinary measures against Microsoft for breaking EU competition law whilst the European Court of Justice rules on an appeal lodged by the software company.
In March, Brussels ruled that Microsoft was guilty of a so-called "abuse of dominant market position" and imposed hard-hitting sanctions on the firm - the world's largest software company.
