The strenght of Norway's currency, the krone, is creating great problems for the country's economic life. Every year, almost 2.000 jobs vanish in Norway's industry. The krone has gained more than 10 per cent value since the introduction of the euro in 1999. This situation costs Norway,s industry 1.5 billion euro a year, according to Norwegian paper Nationen.
