The EU's reform process is bearing fruit, the European Commission has concluded in a report on the bloc's re-launched "Lisbon agenda" on competitiveness. But Brussels also said weak competition - particularly in energy markets - is holding Europe back.
The report - adopted on Tuesday (12 December) - includes country-specific recommendations as well as general remarks on where the EU needs to boost its efforts in a bid to achieve more growth and jobs.
