MEPs respond angrily over arrests in Laos

The European Parliament's committee on foreign affairs denounces the arrest of five protestors in Laos on 26 October 2001, including Italian MEP Olivier Dupuis. MEPs also raised the possibility of sanctions if the Laos government does not respect human rights in accordance with the Co-operation Agreement that it has with the EU.
