EC probes US contracts in Iraq

The European Commission has stated that it will scrutinise the way US authorities award reconstruction deals in Iraq. The Commission is to monitor deals to see if Washington breaches international trade rules on government contracts, but political constraints mean the Commission may not be willing to take the matter too far.
