Putin rejects EU ultimatum, dangles Turkey talks instead

Russia has called for peace talks with Ukraine in Istanbul on Wednesday (15 May), after the EU and US threatened new sanctions.

Russian president Vladimir Putin told press of his Istanbul idea at a Kremlin press briefing at 2AM on Sunday after making reporters wait for him for seven hours.
