EU-US trade war deepens

The EU’s trade chief Pascal Lamy has said that it is premature to expect the EU to lift multi-million euro sanctions on the US, despite Washington repealing illegal export subsidies.

Last week, Washington passed a series of tax reviews which also lifted subsidies, ruled illegal by the World Trade Organisation, however the EU has hinted it is not yet ready to budge.
