Malta to hold elections on 12 April

The Maltese Premier Eddie Fenech Adami has called for early general elections to be held on 12 April. His announcement came the day after the results of the referendum on EU membership were revealed.

This general election will be the determining factor on whether Malta will join the EU or not, as a win by the Opposition Labour Party would put an end to the Maltese accession process in the EU.
