German SPD to focus on Iraq war in European elections

While the German Christian Democrat parties plan to turn Turkish membership of the European Union into a main theme in this June’s European elections, the ruling centre-left SPD has decided to focus on the Iraq war in their campaign.

The SPD campaign will stress that those wanting Europe to become the world’s peacemaker, must strengthen the German government and the Social Democrats in the 13 June elections.
