The World Trade Organization (WTO) on Monday (13 February) gave Brussels the green light to re-impose sanctions worth $4 billion (€ 3.36 billion) on US exports.
The ruling is the latest step in a year-long transatlantic trade dispute, which has prompted the US to adjust its export tax legislation several times.
But the EU has maintained that US heavyweights such as Boeing, General Electric, Motorola and Microsoft are still benefiting illegally from certain export tax benefits.
