France calls for more European 'economic patriotism'

France has called for companies in Europe to be more like their US counterparts and practise economic patriotism.

According to French daily Liberation, finance minister Thierry Breton on Monday (27 September) called for business leaders in Europe to practise more "economic patriotism".

He suggested they should look to their US counterparts as an example adding that it is "not only not shameful to talk about this but it is modern".
