EU prepares for fight on spending cuts

EU finance ministers will meet in Brussels on Monday (15 July) to discuss spending and cost-cutting plans. 

EU economy commissioner Paolo Gentiloni signalled overall cuts would be necessary in 2025, after three years of higher spending to help deal with the financial outfall of the Covid-19 pandemic, Russia's invasion of Ukraine war and ensuing gas cutoff...
