GMO battle mars EU-US summit

A crucial EU-US summit starting this afternoon risks being marred by the recent dispute over the EU's ban on Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in food.

The European Commission yesterday, 24 June, strongly denied accusations made on Monday by US President George W. Bush that the EU's stance on GMOs is contributing to famine in Africa.
