From farm to trash: where is EU food waste coming from?

In 2022, around 132kg of food per person were wasted in the EU. Overall, the 27-nation bloc generated more than 60 million tonnes of food waste, both edible and inedible, according to new figures published by the EU’s statistical office, Eurostat, on Friday (27 September).
