The EU is considering US-style green cards to regulate economic immigrants and combat Europe's ageing population, it announced on Tuesday (11 January).
In a bid to promote a broad debate about "the most appropriate" common rules for admitting economic migrants in the EU, the European Commission has published a discussion paper.
