Grassroots project boosts Roma rights in Hungary

As the European Union awaits its community-wide framework policy on Roma integration, due in spring 2011, a Hungarian grassroots project is giving some ideas of what working solutions might look like.

The Hungarian Civil Liberties Union (HCLU) believes its innovative legal aid programme can help improve the acceptance of the Roma minority in society. The NGO is well known within Hungary as a leading watchdog for media freedom and civil rights.
