This week the two would-be European Commissioners from Bulgaria and Romania will be put through their paces by MEPs looking for general EU commitment and evidence that they know their dossiers - consumer protection and multilingualism, respectively.
The hearings for Bulgaria's Meglena Kuneva and Romania's Leonard Orban will take place in the European Parliament on Monday with MEPs expected to air criticism about the slimness of Mr Orban's language portfolio.
