Denmark's word against Poland's in raspberry spat

Denmark has accused Poland of exporting poisonous frozen raspberries, causing five deaths and over a thousand illnesses over the summer, but the Polish authorities have expressed strong doubts about the evidence.

From June to September this year, over 1,100 Danes, mostly weak and elderly, fell ill after eating desserts containing frozen cheese and pieces of frozen raspberries.

The fruits were traced to a batch originating in Poland in spring 2005.
