Close race in Maltese referendum campaign

As Malta enters its final 18 days of campaigning, the race is heating up and the result could be as close as any general election in Malta in the last 40 years. A decision on EU membership will be taken on 8 March in a national consultative referendum.

A large anti-EU membership manifestation was held in the northern Maltese town of Mosta on Sunday afternoon, attended by of Labour Party supporters.
