Almost ten people every day in the EU die waiting for an organ transplant, figures published on Tuesday by the European Commission show.
Statistics indicate that 40,000 patients are still on the waiting list for an organ donation, said the commission as it launched a public consultation in a bid to improve the situation in Europe.
