Brussels has suspended negotiations with Serbia and Montenegro, after Belgrade missed the deadline for handing over war crimes suspect Ratko Mladic to the UN war tribune in The Hague.
Enlargement commissioner Olli Rehn on Wednesday (3 May) said that despite Serbian progress in cooperating with the UN tribune for former Yugoslavia (ICTY), the failure to deliver general Mladic to the court made it impossible to continue to negotiate a Serbian rapprochement to Brussels.
