Adrian Langan of Ireland, a key campaigner for ratification of the Nice Treaty in his country, has been named as this year’s "Young European of the Year".
Mr Langan, 26, campaigned for acceptance of the Nice Treaty - after it was initially rejected by the Irish people - with the "Irish Alliance for Europe 2002".
Mr Langan also participated in the preparation of EU membership referendums that took place earlier this year in Hungary and Poland.
