The Polish government is steadying its feet after a major wobble that saw the EU political scene lose one of its most colourful characters - Polish farm minister Andrzej Lepper.
Prime minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski sacked Mr Lepper on Thursday (21 September) in a row over public spending, leading Mr Lepper to pull his Self-Defence party from the ruling coalition and raise the risk of early November elections.
