Whistleblower to stand in European elections

The well known Dutchman and EU whistleblower Paul van Buitenen has announced his candidature for the European elections.

He is going to set up a new list, 'Europa Transparant', in the Netherlands and is hoping to gain 3 to 6 of the 27 Dutch seats available in the European Parliament elections on 13 June.

If elected, Mr van Buitenen would like to focus his work in the European Parliament's powerful Budget Control Committee, he told the EUobserver.
