EUOBSERVER / EP-elections 2004 - The political rivalry between Italy’s Premier Silvio Berlusconi and his arch rival Commission President Romano Prodi has been the top attraction in the past few months in the run up to the European Parliamentary elections.
Italians will vote on the 12-13 of June, coinciding with administrative elections, so turnout for the European elections should be good as voting is compulsory.
In 1999, 70.8% turned out while 74.8% voted in 1994.
