The Czech Republic is maintaining the line that the contested Benes Decrees should not be allowed to influence enlargement. Pavel Telicka, the Czech Republic chief accession negotiator said that should the European parliament's document on the Decrees be critical then "it must be examined, but it is not connected with enlargement."
