The European Commission is funding up to half of the budget for television and radio programmes that can "contribute to a better perception of the EU", according to French daily Le Monde.
The funding - up to a maximum of 75,000 euro for radio programmes and 300,000 for television - is based on three criteria: originality, creativity and the number of viewers reached.
