EU losing patience with Microsoft

The European Union and US software giant Micrososft failed to reach agreement over the EU's anti-trust case following a meeting between the two sides on Tuesday (26 April).

Microsoft's chief executive Steve Ballmer called the meeting with European Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes to discuss the five-year old case but positions remained unchanged following the meeting.

"What Mrs Kroes said is that the Commission expects the decision ... to be complied with urgently and in full...
