Europe has nothing to gain from closing doors to China

The European Union must not rely on protectionist barriers to stem the effects of globalization, EU trade commissioner Peter Mandelson said on Tuesday (14 March).

Instead, the bloc must brace itself for job losses and the collapse of old industries, Mr Mandelson stated during a debate in the European Parliament.
