Socialist and centre-right MEPs will battle it out over the parliament's latest version of the REACH chemicals bill on Tuesday (4 October), as lobbying intensifies in the final stages of the landmark EU law.
The Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restrictions of Chemicals (REACH) rules are designed to stamp out the circulation of potentially dangerous substances by forcing industry to dish up information on chemicals used in everyday products such as toys or paper.
