Spanish MEP Inigo Méndez de Vigo is to step down from his position as European Parliament representative in the ongoing Constitution talks in favour of his EPP colleague, Elmar Brok.
The two men, both important members of the Convention that drew up the draft Constitution, made a 'gentleman's agreement' in September after the EPP was evenly split about who should be the Parliament's representative.
