EU members have failed to agree on who should be the next director of Europol, the European police office, despite the fact that the current director ends his term tomorrow.
This issue has been blocked for months by bickering between France, Germany and Italy.
The Irish EU presidency, which ends its term at the EU helm tomorrow, Wednesday, had put a 28 June deadline to find an agreement on this issue.
