EU countries back commission proposal to lower wolves' protection

EU member states have taken a step to lower the protection status of wolves in Europe in response to growing concerns from livestock farmers.

A majority of EU countries on Wednesday (25 September) backed the EU Commission proposal to adjust the wolves’ protection status from “strictly protected” to “protected”.
