The European Union last night (27 January) agreed new measures to improve airline safety.
After a long meeting with representatives from the European Parliament, Council and European Commission it was agreed that a new EU-wide blacklist of airlines with a poor safety record should be created, according to the BBC.
The issue has been on the table since a Flash Airlines plane crashed into the Red Sea on 3 January killing 148 people.
