Ukraine war driving 'supercycle' in German and Western arms sales

The Ukraine war has caused roaring growth in ammunition sales, according to a German CEO that Russia reportedly planned to kill.

"The supercycle is clearly accelerating ... We have never seen such growth," said Armin Papperger, the chief of Germany's top arms firm, Rheinmetal, on Thursday (8 August), in a statement on its first-half 2024 results.
