Bush takes on tricky European tour

George W. Bush's visit to Europe has turned into a diplomatic tightrope walk, with the US keen to honour Russian sacrifice in World War II on the one hand and to respect eastern European sentiment about Soviet era oppression on the other.

The trip began in Latvia today (6 May), with the US president set to take in the Netherlands, Russia and Georgia over the next four days.
