Duisenberg unhappy with Convention draft

The European Central Bank, ECB, is not happy with the draft Constitution currently being drawn up in Valéry Giscard d'Estaing's European Convention.

The ECB president, Wim Duisenberg said today, Thursday, (8 May) in a press conference following the monthly meeting of the governing Council in Frankfurt, that the text presented on the ECB ought to be "shortened and made more precise in the wording".
